Category: Goalball

We are saddened to report the loss of Keith Lound. Keith passed away after losing his battle with illness on Monday 14th January 2013.

Keith (Great Britain) was not only a fantastic and social man but also dedicated to the sport of Goalball, involved on and off the court.

He had been a top level referee for countless years and had refereed at all levels of the game including Paralympics, IBSA World Championships and IBSA European Championships. His last major tournament was the London 2012 Paralympic Games where he participated as an international technical officer.

Off the court, Keith was also involved in the development and organizational side of Goalball. This included serving as Chair of the British Blind Sport Goalball Committee from 2005 to 2008 and as a Board of Trustees member  in 2007. He also played a vital role in bringing the IBSA Goalball World Championships to Sheffield in 2010.

Keith will be greatly missed by everyone who ever worked with him and had the opportunity to spend time with him.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
