Football update – Georgia date changes and U23 World Championships confirmed

The IBSA Football Committee has announced two pieces of news related to upcoming international tournaments:
1 IBSA Partially Sighted Football European Championships 2018
This competition, originally scheduled for next month, has been postponed until December due to requests from participating teams and difficulties concerning sight classifiers in October.
The new dates for the partially sighted (B2-B3) tournament, hosted by the Georgian National Football Federation for the Blind and Partially Sighted, are December 5th to December 15th. The provisional schedule is as follows:
5th December 2018 – arrivals
6th December 2018 – sight classification, training and technical meeting
7th December 2018 – sight classification, training and opening ceremony
8th/9th/10th December 2018 – group stage matches
11th December 2018 – rest day and optional visit to Tbilisi and surroundings
12th December 2018 – semi-finals and placement matches
13th December 2018 – 3rd-4th place match and placement matches
14th December 2018 – final & awards ceremony with gala dinner
15th December 2018 – departures

2 IBSA Blind Football Under-23 World Championships 2019
The committee is delighted to announce that Colombia has been named host country for the first-ever U-23 blind football (B1) world championships.
The San Fernando Football Stadium in Cartagena de Indias will play host to the tournament, which is organised by the Colombian Sports Federation for the Visually Impaired (FEDELIV) and will take place from February 28th 2019 to March 9th 2019.
Eligible players are those who are at least 15 years old on January 1st 2019 (minimum age) and 23 years old or under on March 30th 2019 (maximum age).
Provisional schedule
28th Feb – arrivals
1st March – sight classification/training
2nd March – sight classificatin/training/technical meeting
3rd-5th March – group stage matches
6th March – rest day/training/technical meeting
7th March – semifinals in the morning/7th-8th and 5th-6th place matches in the afternoon
8th March – 3rd-4th place match and final in the morning/closing ceremony in the evening
March 9th: departures
