Date: November 16, 2015

Category: Football

IBSA member countries are reminded that the IBSA Football Committee is currently seeking to identify host cities for major championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

This process aims to ensure host cities are in place as early as is feasible to enable organisers to deliver the best possible tournaments. It will also allow national teams to optimise their preparations for the championships.

IBSA member countries are invited to submit bids to host the following championships:

2017 IBSA Blind Football African Championships
2017 IBSA Blind Football Americas Championships (Copa América)
2017 IBSA Blind Football Asian Championships
2017 IBSA Blind Football European Championships
2017 IBSA Blind Football Oceania Championships

2018 IBSA Blind Football World Championships

Initially, countries interested in hosting any of these events are invited to send a letter expressing interest to Mr Ulrich Pfisterer, Chair of the IBSA Football Committee, at [email protected], with copy to Mr Henk van Aller, IBSA Secretary General, at [email protected].

Formal bids should then be submitted using the IBSA sanction application form. Click on the link above to view or download the form.

The deadlines for submitting expressions of interest and full bids are as follows:

2017 continental championships

Monday 30th November 2015 – expression of interest
Monday February 29th 2016 – full bid

2018 world championships

Thursday 31st March 2016 – expression of interest
Tuesday 31st May 2016 – full bid

Contact [email protected] for further information regarding the process and the championships.
