Match day two was a good one for hosts Brazil at the IBSA Goalball American Championships 2017 in Sao Paulo.

Brazil's women's team is sitting at the top of the group on 10 points, one ahead of Canada and three more than the USA. However, the Canadians and Americans have a game in hand. 

Costa Rica and Mexico are on three points and Peru is sixth.

In the men's event, the hosts defeated arch rivals Argentina 4-1 and lead pool A on six. Canada and the United States lead pool B, also on maximum points, from Mexico and Costa Rica.

The group stage concludes later today and all four men's quarter-finals will be played this afternoon.
