Day two of the 2013 IBSA Parapan American Games and World Youth Championships contained some more close matches but also the stronger teams started to really show their strength.
This was certainly the case in the male Parapan division. Canada, USA and Brazil confirmed their spots as the top teams in the Americas. These three countries all won their matches in devastating fashion. The only time this changed was when they came up against each other. Brazil continued to show that they plan to remain the number one team in the Americas and this time by defeating Canada 10-7. The only other close match was a 6 all draw between Argentina and Venezuela.
In the female Parapan division, the USA came back firing after their loss on day one. They revenged their loss to Canada with a 3-1 win thanks to a hat trick from Asya Miller and superb defense by Amanda Dennis as stated on their twitter page. It wasn’t all doom for Canada though. They did beat Brazil 8-6.
Unlike the senior male tournament, the matches were a lot closer amongst the youth male. Most matches were still relatively comfortably won.
The youth female team from Russia continued to dominate but it wasn’t as simple as day one. This time they had to come up against the USA who is also showing that they are a gold medal contender. Russia just won this duel with a 4-3 end score.
