The IBSA World Games are rapidly approaching, and this edition will be the first where elections are held for the newly established IBSA Athletes’ Council. We are proud that several engaged athletes have put their names forward to seek election to the Athletes’ Council.

The candidates are as follows (in alphabetical order by country of origin):

• Ilham Zakiyev, Azerbaijan
• Iida Kauppila, Finland
• Daniel Powell, Great Britain
• Emmanouela Masourou, Greece
• Sela Odhiambo, Kenya

The elections will take place in both Birmingham and Coventry, and voting ballots will be available in both braille and print. There will be volunteers present to assist with the voting process.

The Executive Board is excited to see the engagement of athletes wanting to be part of bringing a voice to IBSA athletes at the governing level and sincerely hopes that all athletes at the IBSA World Games will take a couple of minutes to help determine the election.
