The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Football Committee is calling on countries to present their bids to host partially sighted football regional championships in 2022.
The committee is looking for hosts for regional events in Africa, America, Asia (including Oceania) and Europe. Bids should be submitted by Monday 28 February 2022 to [email protected]
To submit a full application to host please use the IBSA sanction application form. Bids are open to IBSA Members.
The 2022 regional championships will all be qualifying competitions for the IBSA Partially Sighted Football World Championships in Birmingham, Great Britain, in August 2023 at the IBSA World Games.
Birmingham 2023 promises to be the biggest ever festival of football for people with a visual impairment as the men’s and women’s blind football World Championships are also on the programme.
The current partially sighted football world champions are Ukraine, who defeated England 6-2 in the final in Turkey in 2019.
