A big weekend is on the cards for blind football in Europe, with two events set to take place in England and the Czech Republic.
The Royal National College in Hereford, venue for the 2010 IBSA Blind Football World Championships, hosts another major international tournament in the shape of the Quad Nations Tournament this weekend.
Organised by the English Football Association, the tournament brings together Paralympic and IBSA World champions Brazil, European champions Spain, hosts England and Italy for three day’s play. Some of the teams will be using the event as a prep for the upcoming IBSA Blind Football World Championships in Japan in November of this year.
According to England Performance Director and IBSA Football Committee member Jeff Davis, “this tournament will be a real challenge for the England team against higher ranked teams in blind football. We are delighted to host this event as we continue to develop as a team and use it as preparation for the 2015 European Championships, which we hope to host at the Royal National College.”
