Blind Football reaches Oman
Date: May 2, 2018
Oman is the latest country to be welcomed to the blind football family after an exciting initiative has brought blind football to life in the Asian country.
With support from Mashkor and Wgtowell, the Oman National Paralymic Committee conducted the first blind football workshop in the country at Gulf College in Seeb from 19 to 24 April for thirteen athletes and six volunteers.
The workshops were led by the National Paralympic Committee’s Blind Football Coach and former Moroccan Goalball player Youness Khatibi, who delivered practical activties on ball control, shooting, use of the word ‘voy!’ and other technical aspects of the game.

“Our objective is to expand blind football across Oman, and to build a pool of players to formalute a national team that will participate in next year’s Asian Blind Football Championships” said Youness Khabati.
Oman has become the first Gulf state to introduce blind football as the game expands and reaches new parts of the world.
