Category: Football

Blind football is the focus for a recent podcast on sports for the visually impaired from New Zealand.

The Blind Sport Podcast No 35 features an interview with former England coach Tony Larkin, who explains the rules and history of the game and sets out plans for future development.

The audio podcast (http://theblindsportpodcast.com/) is issued twice a month and each one features a different sport or activity for the blind and partially sighted.

Sports covered in the past include ice hockey, golf, tennis, lawn bowls, tenpin bowling and beep baseball.

Among others, the goals of the podcast are to assist others to start or enhance their sport, to build a community where VI sportswomen and sportsmen can share experiences, hints and tips and express a variety of different views, learn about new sports, promote blind specific events, and celebrate blind sport.

The Blind Sports Podcast is produced by Mike Lloyd, a blind runner and cyclist.
Listeners can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes and through other podcasting facilities and apps.
