Blind Football American Championships match day one report

The IBSA Blind Football American Championships kicked off in style yesterday in Santiago de Chile, with the sun shining and goals galore on match day one.

Following the official opening, hosts Chile and Colombia met in the first match. It was a very closely fought game with both teams having options to come out on top, but in the end it was Colombia that took the three points with a 4-3 victory.

The second match saw Argentina defeat Mexico 3-0 thanks to strikes from Velo, Véliz and Rodrñiguez.

In yesterday's third game, reigning champions Brazil had no difficulty in finding the back of the net against Peru, running out winners by 9-0.

Brazil tops the league table after the first round of matches, followed by Argentina and then Colombia.
