Date: October 21, 2015

Category: Football

Today is match day three at the IBSA Blind Football African Championships in Douala, Cameroon. Six teams are in action for the title of African champions and a slot at the Rio 2016 paralympic Games.

Following a spectacular opening ceremony, the competition kicked off on Monday with hosts Cameroon easily beating Ivory Coast by 5-0. For both teams it was their first ever official match in IBSA competitions.

The host team was in action again yesterday and defeated Mali 1-0 in a close-fought match. Cameroon was the first team to qualify for the semi-finals.

Yesterday’s second match saw reigning African champions Morocco take on debutants Egypt. The new Egyptian team had a nervous start to the game before settling down, but it was Morocco who ran out the winners by 3-0.
