Austria blind football seminars a big hit

Date: October 18, 2016

Category: Football

IBSA Blind Football travelled to Austria last weekend to coach players and trainers from its newly-established blind football programme.

In total 10 players and 10 coaches took part in the training weekend, organised in Vienna in partnership with the Austrian Disability Sport Federation and with strong support from SK Rapid Vienna.

The training weekend is part of the UEFA-funded IBSA Blind Football Development Project Europe, which aims to take the game to every IBSA Europe member country and UEFA member association.

The weekend kicked off with presentations on the project and an introduction to blind football on Friday evening, followed by training sessions at a local sports centre on Saturday and on Sunday morning.

IBSA Blind Football will continue to assist the programme with a view to helping Austria set up a national blind football team.
