Argentina wins Under-23 South American Blind Football Cup

Argentina’s youngsters defeated the Brazilian under-23 national blind football team yesterday to take the first Under-23 South American Blind Football Cup. The tournament was hosted by the Argentinean Blind Sports Federation and held in the town of Chaco.
The Agentinean team, known affectionately as the Baby Bats, defeated Brazil 2-1 on penalties following a nil-nil draw after regular time and extra time. Maximiliano Espinillo and Nicolás Véliz scored from the spot to give Argentina victory over their neighbours and arch rivals.
Paraguay came third in the tournament, beating a representative team from North-east Argentina on penalties.
