April 2017 IBSA Goalball World Ranking Released

Date: May 4, 2017

Category: Goalball

The only qualified ranking tournaments held around the world to date this year (2017) has been the West Asia Para Games in Khorfakkan UAE in February so the majority of movement in the rankings will be from the shift in weightings due to the age of games played.

The only change in the top ten women’s teams since the end of last year has been that Great Britain have moved in ahead of Australia (Brazil, China, Turkey, USA, Japan, Russia, Canada, Israel, Germany and Great Britain).  It’s a similar story in the men’s division.  There have been changes in position although the ten teams have largely remained the same (Brazil, Lithuania, Turkey, China, USA, Ukraine, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland and Iran).  More recently Canada have dropped from 10th to 11th and Slovenia have now dropped down to 12th.

There will be some tournaments in May, June and July that will be considered before we come to the qualification tournaments from August onwards.
