Ukraine retains IBSA Partially Sighted Football world crown

Defending champions Ukraine has proven to be too strong for the opposition at the IBSA Partially Sighted Football World Championships in Antalya, Turkey.

Ukraine retained its world title yesterday afternoon, winning its third consecutive world championship crown by defeating England 6-2 in the final.

Russia took bronze after a tight match against the hosts ended in a 2-2 draw. The Russians came out top in a penalty shoot-out to secure their place on the podium.

Italy concluded the championships in fifth place, beating Spain 6-2 in the paly-off match. Japan closed the final standings in seventh sport.

The 2019 IBSA Partially Sighted Football World Championships were hosted by GESFED, the Turkish Blind Sports Federation.
