IBSA calendar update – check out new events for VI athletes

Several new events for visually impaired sportsmen and sportswomen for 2018 have been added to the IBSA calendar.
The competitions and championships cover a range of sports, and while some are officially-sanctioned IBSA competitions, others are published solely for information and dissemination purposes.
Here's a run-down on the new events added. Click on any of the names to go to the calendar entry for further information:
1 Danish Judo Open Cup and Camp, 10th-13th February 2018
Hosted by the Danish Judo Union, the cup and camp offers a competition and training camp for senior visually impaired men and women.
2 Lithuanian Open Goalball Championships 2018, 17th-18th February
Teams interested in taking part should inform the organisers no later than January 19th 2018. The deadline for first entries is February 2nd 2018.
3 BSC Prague Showdown Cup 2018, 7th-11th March
Organised by the Prague Blind Sports Club, the competition offers the chance to pick up points for the IBSA Showdown ranking table.
4 2018 Youth games, 31st May – 3rd June
Hosted by the Czech Blind Sports Federation in Brno. Schools are invited to enter a team of up to 10 students (aged from 15 to 23) and 3 team member staff. The sports on the programme are athletics, swimming, goalball, showdown, bowling, blind football.
5 18th IBSA Nine-pin Bowling European Championships, 1st-8th June 2018
Organised by the Romanian Paralympic Committee and the Romanian Association of the Blind. This is an official IBSA competition.
6 Liepaja Open Showdown Tournament, 19th-22nd July 2018
Hosted by the Liepaja Blind Sports Club in cooperation with the Latvian Blind Sports Union. Entry forms must be sent by 3rd March 2018.
