Goalball glory for Brazil and Canada at American Championships

Hosts Brazil took gold in the men's competition at the IBSA Goalball American Championships in Sao Paulo yesterday, defeating the USA 8-3 in the final.
In the women's event it was gold for Canada, who denied the hosts a historic double in defeating the Brazilians 6-4.
Canada took bronze in the men's championships thanks to a 6-3 victory over Argentina, and the USA women's team overcame Mexico 10-1 to come third.
Amy Burk from Canada won the top scorer trophy in the women's competition with 18 goals, and Argentina's Hernan Almada came top of the goal-scorers' table in the men's tournament on 24 goals.
