Romania has been confirmed as the host country for a major blind football tournament next year, the first time an official IBSA blind football competition is to be held in the country.
Bacau, Romania, will host the 2017 IBSA Blind Football European Qualifier and Division 2 Championships from Saturday April 1st to Sunday April 9th 2017.
The entry fee for the tournament will be around 525-550 Euros per participant, including capitation fees, accommodation, all meals and local transport.
The tournament is open to all IBSA member countries in Europe, with the exception of the eight countries whose teams have already qualified for the 2017 IBSA Blind Football European Championships in Berlin in August 2017 (Turkey, Russia, Spain, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Belgium).
The winners and runners-up at the tournament in Bacau will qualify for the European Championships in Berlin.
The tournament will also be the very first IBSA Blind Football European Division 2, following strong development in the region in recent years and reflecting the growing number of national teams in Europe.
European IBSA member countries interested in taking part are asked to complete the expression of interest form above and return it to [email protected] and [email protected] by Sunday 15th January 2017.
