Goalball gold for Lithuania and Russia in Finland

The Pajulahti Games 2016, a Finnish multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, concluded recently and results are now in from the goalball tournament.
The Russian women's goalball team defeated the USA 6-4 to take gold in the six-team competition. Turkey beat Israel 9-2 for bronze, with Ukraine in fifth place and hosts Finland coming sixth.

In the men's tournament it was a northern European affair as Lithuania and Sweden took to the court. In the end it was a rather one-sided game, with the Lithuanians coming out on top by 11 goals to 3.

Turkey defeated Germany 8-7 in a very tight match, while Finland came fifth by beating Great Britain 8-4 in the match for fifth and sixth place.
