On Day 1 of the 2022 IBSA Judo European Championships, which is taking place at PalaPirastu Sports Hall in the city of Cagliari, island of Sardinia (Italy), eight new Judo European champions in light-weight classes were known.
The competition started today, and the first medals have already been delivered. Ukraine (three gold medals, two silver, and one bronze medal) and Turkey (two gold medals and one bronze) are taking the lead, although there are still two competition days ahead. The Romanian judoka, Alex Bologa, also confirmed all the results he got during the three Grand Prix this year (Antalya, Nur-Sultan and São Paulo) and seems to be heading to the World Championship in November, in the city of Baku, in a golden way to conquer the world title.
