Men's and women's goalball teams representing eight countries are in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to compete in the 2018 IBSA Goalball American Championships, to be held 29 November through 3 December, 2018.

Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, United States, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela have all gathered at the Paralympic Training Centre to take part in the tournament, the last of the regional championships prior to the 2018 IBSA World Goalball Championships.

The championships are organised by the Brazilian Blind Sports Confederation (CBDV), and all matches can be followed live on its Youtube channel, CBDV TV.

The opening match later today will be in the women's competition and will see hosts Brazil take on Costa Rica.
