Attention Goalball fans, things will begin to heat up as the 2016 IBSA Goalball Africa Regional Championships will begin at the Staoueli Arena in Algiers, Algeria. This tournament is the final installment of the qualification series for the 2016 Paralympic Games.
Over the past 3 days, teams have been in the process of arriving, undergoing vision classification, and working out final competition strategies as they prepare to begin the battle for those final Rio qualification slots. Additionally, teams paritcipated in coaching and referee clinics IBSA and the IPC are providing throughout the tournament.The tournament will open with a woman's match between Egypt and Tunisia. Later in the day Egypt will play Tunisia and the host team from Algeria will compete against their neighbors from Morocco. The men's division will open with Cote d'Ivoire taking on Algeria. Also competing on day 1 will be Morocco versus Tunisia and Algeria versus Egypt.
