Date: October 27, 2015

Category: Showdown

The organising committee for the 3rd Ronde Venen Showdown Dutch Open are delighted with the number of entries received to take part in the event.

Forty-five men and twenty-five women have signed up to compete against each other on the 10th, 11th and 12th of December at the Poldertrotsschool in Waverveen. Over the course of three days, everyone can enjoy a top level Showdown competition.

Showdown is a sport for visually impaired people, a cross between air hockey and table tennis, and is played by relying on sound instead of sight. More than one hundred players and coaches will reside in the Best Western hotel Uithoorn and Mijdrecht Hotel Marickenland.

The opening ceremony for the 3rd Ronde Venen Showdown Dutch Open will take place at the Best Western Hotel Uithoorn on the 9th of December at 20:30. The opening ceremony will be conducted by the city council member for sports, Aldrik Dijkstra.

For more information on showdown contact the Chair of the IBSA Showdown Committee, Krister Olenmo, at [email protected].
