IBSA Goalball European Championships – A

The Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation is ready to host the 2015 IBSA Goalball European Championships men and women A, in Kaunas, Lithuania, between 5-12 July, 2015. The event is a qualifier for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

There will be a live streaming of all 66 games at, followed by a professional audio description in Lithuanian and English. When opened, choose window A or B, depending on whether you want to watch men’s or women’s games.
Unique to this championships, the IBSA Goalball European Championships Lounge was opened ahead of the championships, where fourteen trees – as many as the countries participating in the European Championships – were decorated in a knitted tree graffiti style. The Lounge will advertise the Championships for the whole period, and volunteers will give the public the chance to try out goalball with eyeshades each day before and during the tournament. The Lounge is close to the Championships’ hotel and is also meant to become a meeting, relaxation and social area for participants.
The participating men‘s teams are: Lithuania, Spain, Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic, Finland, Belgium, Slovenia, Sweden and Ukraine. Teams in the women‘s competition include: Russia, Turkey, Israel, Finland, Germany, Ukraine, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Greece.
The IBSA European Goalball Championships 2015 are under the patronage of the H.E. Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Lithuania.
