According to the IPC qualification criteria and the final standings at the IBSA Blind Football World Championships in Japan in November 2014, the remaining team slots for the Football Five-a-side competition at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games (in addition to Brazil and Argentina, who have already qualified) will be the highest ranking teams at the following events:

– IPC Parapan American Games, Toronto: 1 team slot (disregarding the teams already qualified – Brazil and Argentina).

– IBSA Blind Football European Championships, Hereford:  2 team slots.

– IBSA Blind Football Asian Championships, Tokyo: 2 team slots.

– IBSA Blind Football African Championships, Douala: 1 team slot.
