England enjoyed an impeccable group stage, winning all four matches and scoring 15 goals in the process. Russia was also unbeaten in Group B, winning two and drawing two to finish on eight points and knock out France, losing finalists in the 2013 Europeans.

The second semi-final will see favourites Spain take on much-improved Turkey. Spain secured its semi-final slot thanks to a tight win over France on Wednesday, while Turkey qualified from Group A on seven points and on goal difference ahead of Germany.
