The IBSA Goalball Committee has selected two new hosts for major Goalball tournaments in 2017.

2017 IBSA Goalball African Championships

Egypt was selected to host the African championships in 2017. The city is Sharm el Sheikh situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in South Sinai on the coastal strip along the Red Sea.

The tournament is scheduled to be organized from 14th to 24th October 2017. This tournament is also a qualifying tournament for the World Championships 2018.

2017 IBSA Goalball European Championships, Group C (men)

Moldova has been selected to host the European C championships 2017. The venue is located in Ciorescu city, some 12 km from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The preliminary dates for this tournament are from the 4th to 11th of September 2017.

The IBSA Goalball Committee welcomes Moldova as a new member of the Goalball family. Between 12 and 15 teams are expected to participate in the European C championships.

The IBSA Goalball Committee has started preparations and cooperation with both hosts. The technical delegates will be nominated soon.
