Following the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling earlier this week regarding suspenson of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Australia was confirmed to replace Russia in the 2016 Paralympic Games women's Goalball competition. 

The International Paralympic Committee offered the Goalball slot to the Australian Paralympic Committee by virtue of Australia's ranking position from the 2015 IBSA World Games held in Seoul, Korea. 

The Australian Paralympic Committee is currently working to prepare their team for this very short notice opportunity.  IBSA Goalball congratulates Australia for the selection and wishes them success in the games.
