Asia-Pacific Goalball Championships underway

Following the success of IBSA's regional goalball championships in the Americans (Toronto, Canada) and European Championships (Kaunas, Lithuania), the 2015 IBSA Goalball Asia & Pacific Championships is now taking place in Hangzhou, China.
 
The championships will be the last opportunity for Asian and Oceanian countries to qualify for the RIO 2016 Paralympic Games. The Top ranked team (not otherwise qualified) at the regional Championships (men & women) will obtain one qualification slot for their NPC. 
 
Participating Teams:
 
Men's Teams: Australia (AUS), China (CHN), Japan (JPN), Korea (KOR), Iran (IRI)
Women's Teams: Australia (AUS), China (CHN), Japan (JPN), Mongolia (MGL), Thailand (THA)

The IBSA Goalball Asia & Pacific Championships are hosted by the National Paralympic Committee of China and APC Centre of Excellence Hangzhou (China Goalball Training Centre). Today saw the first matches in the event. 
 
Teams will play each other in a single round robin system before moving on to placement games on the final match day.
